Solution:
Arkivum selected IBM System Storage® TS3310 and TS3500 tape libraries, providing a combination of LTO (Linear Tape Open) and IBM TS1100 Enterprise tape technologies. These IBM tape technologies have also enabled the development of OSCAR – an all-in-one archiving solution for clients whose data needs to remain behind their corporate firewall.

Benefits:
Reduces costs by 50 percent and electricity requirements by more than 99 percent compared with a disk-based cloud storage platform. Provides substantially better protection against “bit rot” than disk media. Enables easy scalability via expansion cabinets and new generations of tape drives and media that offer higher density.
