Arkivum's digital archiving service provides an approach to data safety and security that is both simple and effective.  We keep multiple copies of your data in secure UK data centres and we actively check and manage its integrity to ensure it remains in bit-perfect condition all the time.

We use industry leading, energy efficient and proven storage technology utilising open standards to deliver fast and efficient online access to your data.  We provide you with a gateway appliance that sits on your network that not only delivers 'drag and drop' archiving, but also ensures all data entering our service is strongly encrypted before it even leaves your site.  And that data is never deleted from your premises until we have 3 verified copies created, two in our data centres and one in escrow.

To provide added reassurance the third copy of your data is held offline and locked away in a third-party escrow service.  This means you have the peace of mind of guaranteed access to your data no matter what happens to our service, and we know that we can recover from even the most catastrophic of disasters.

We fully understand that IT systems are never infallible, yet ever increasing amounts of data is stored on them, and for ever longer times. We tackle this problem head-on.  We make no assumptions about the safety or security of any component of our digital archiving service, be it infrastructure, software or people.  We check and double-check data integrity every step of the way, we tightly control access to all aspects of our service, and we use automated processes to fix any problems as soon as they occur.
