A-Stor How It Works

Our ultra-dependable data archiving service, A-Stor, uses industry-leading LTO/LTFS data tape technology and open standards to deliver fast and efficient online access. Using a gateway appliance that sits on the customer’s network, A-Stor delivers the archive as a single file system. This enables you to easily search and retrieve data with the point and click of a mouse, providing online access within five minutes.

We provide a completely transparent data archiving service and data which is always safe and secure because three copies of all customer data are continually maintained – two in our UK-based data centres and one offline, locked away in an escrow service.  We actively manage data integrity to ensure customer data remains in bit-perfect condition all the time.  Customers can rest assured that they can retrieve their data regardless of what happens to the service and we are safe in the knowledge that it can recover from any catastrophe.
